This giveaway has ended. Thanks to all that entered!
Some of you might remember my post a couple of weeks ago asking you to contact Dr. OZ about the BARBAR Eco 8000 hair dryer. If BARBAR gets on the Dr. OZ show, everyone who participates will receive a Eco 8000 plus 80% off their site! Last week BARBAR was awesome enough to send me a hair dryer to review and to giveaway and I’m very impressed!!
I have to say I was really shocked when I read about coil heating hair dryers emitting high EMF (electromagnetic fields) radiation. I also learned that when wearing a under wire bra or any metal, you are putting yourself at risk for the EMFs to reenter your body. The metal acts as a antennae, re-radiating the external EMFs into the body. Other products you should beware of are alarm clocks, cell phones, computers, photocopiers, electric kettles, electric razors, plasma tvs, and of course microwaves. Computers emit 20mG, cell phones emit 100mG, and coil heating hair dryers emit 200-400mG!! So if you are having headaches, skin tingling, fatigue, mood swings, lack of concentration… EMFs could be the cause. And it might be from your hair dryer since you typically hold it 6 inches from your head! Note: Studies have shown that EMFs can cause tumors, leukemia and cancer.
This is information that your doctor or pediatrician should be telling you! And why wasn’t this in any of my baby books? In the winter I have always used a hair dryer on Ella. She has pretty long hair, so it usually takes at least 5 minutes to get it somewhat dry. How can a company not post this on their products? 400mG of EMFs 6 inches from a child’s head is insane. Especially when the safe levels of EMFs are .01-2.5!
The Eco 8000 emits 5mG, but compared to 400mG, that is outstanding. The reason why the Eco 8000 has lower EMFs is because they use a ceramic heating element. The ceramic heating element uses 90% electricity turning it into heat. So no energy is wasted. Coil dryers don’t use all of the electricity that they create and that is what turns into radiation.
So after learning all of the scary stuff about dryers, I put the Eco 8000 to the test. I started to dry my hair and was really impressed at how fast the dryer worked. I was able to dry my hair and Ella’s hair in the same amount of time it takes to dry my hair with my old dryer. That was a big plus! I also love the extra long cord which made it so much easier to chase Ella as I tried to dry her hair.
The Eco 8000 has multiple speeds and heating settings. This is great since I have long hair which needs a higher setting and Ella has finer hair that needs a lower setting. When I finished drying my hair I felt like I had just left the salon. No kidding! My hair was salon quality without having to pay someone! It was perfectly straight without the frizzies. I have naturally curly hair and no matter how hard I try to straighten it, it doesn’t work. So I have been truly impressed with every feature of the Eco 8000. You can purchase the Eco 8000 at BARBAR for $150. And it’s totally worth every penny.
